Happy Hardcore was een zeer populaire muziekstroming in de jaren ’90 van de vorige eeuw. Het is een vrolijke variantie van hardcore house. Typisch aan happy hardcore liedjes zijn de vrolijke (vrouwen)zang, zoetsappige teksten en een hoge beat tussen de 165 en 180 per minuut. Vaak zijn er ‘samples’ gebruikt uit andere liedjes die versneld zijn. Vooral in Nederland en Duitsland was de stroming zeer populair en veel van de populaire happy hardcore acts komen dan ook uit eigen land, denk aan DJ Paul Elstak, Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo , 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor, Nakatomi en 4 Tune Fairytales. Populaire acts uit Duitsland zijn onder andere Scooter en Dune.
